It's easy to see why the Black Pro-Mists have been so successful over the last 30 years. Its unique contrast layer combined with a gossamer coat of paint acts as a twist on the effect for the halo effect. Even at the lowest density, it delivers effective and increased halation that adds a comfortable depth of warmth but does not carry to skin tone values. These properties become more apparent when using densities of 1 quarter and above.
In the higher densities, practical light makes the stain quite aggressive, with the warm tone becoming more evident. Still, the subtle but effective look makes the Pro Nebula filter the staple filter for many cinematographers in the digital world.
